So, my clutch always had a lack of a sort of "feel" to it, which sometimes made me feel like I just learned to drive a manual last week.
I've learned that the purpose of the "clutch helper spring" is to make the pedal feel more linear, at the cost of feeling the actual clutch engagement itself.
I've bought the item linked below, install was very easy (there are some youtube videos about it, but really it's just pulling off a clip with needle-nose pliers, removing the pin that holds the original spring, and replacing with the new spring).
Made a big difference, especially when driving hard. Much more natural feeling and predictable now. Pedal weight wasn't significantly changed.
Note you can also just remove the original helper spring, but the pedal will feel heavier and there will be more play at the top.
All in all this, combined with the CMAK install, has greatly improved the feel of my clutch. If you've followed my other post, I still need to deal with throw-out bearing gremlins, possibly caused by misalignment by my mechanic. However clutch is feeling good.
