Here's the holy grail thread: Steering lock problem solved (for real)

Since yours is already toast you have basically two options. Beat on the module itself (under the steering column) with a rubber mallet while trying to start the vehicle and hope and pray that the pin inside the lock releases. If the car starts, immediately pull the ESCL fuse while the car is running (follow the instructions in the linked thread). The other option is to bite the bullet and replace the ESCL module (either pay the stealership a lot of money or you could probably DIY it easily enough).
