From what I understand, you looked at the wrong side of one TB. So you really have no idea how clean they are. And don't assume both sides are the same level of dirty.

Yeah, I'm not sure cleaning anything is going to solve your problem. But a clean MAF eliminates the possibility. After cleaning them, I would clear the code and then swap them. You got a Bank 01 code, so if you swap them and the code moves to Bank 02 then you know the fault is with the sensor itself. It could be an intake leak or a sensor or a number of other things if you are able to eliminate the MAF as the source of the problem.
