When I worked for Elliott. It was feast or famine. 12hr day, 7 days a week or laid off. You would work about 5 months of 12's. Then go back to 40. Felt like you was getting a pay cut. Seen guys crying for OT, because they couldn't make ends meet on 40 hrs. They got used to the OT, and counted on it being there. Go from $1,800 plus a week to $1,200 a week.
I did this same deal.. I worked for a union in Detroit... Full blast 7x12s and then unemployment for a few weeks. Then another job and do it all over again... I was single, so I liked it. More time to ride motorcycles and go deer hunting (2 legged)
