I have never heard of NEO oil until very recently. It is a very small company in Socal. I think they also offer transmission and differential fluids.
How is NEO compared to Mobil-1 and the like?

Is this normal or typical for this engine or did I just maybe get lucky with an engine that was made with tight tolerances?
