I need some help from owners of non-navi models to answer some questions.

For the fan control dial, how many discreet fan speeds can you select? I count 24 detents, but that seems like a lot of fan speeds!
I noticed that there is a detent on the Mode dial in between the foot and foot/defrost mode. What mode is that?
