You arent lying. I tried a straight solid trans mount in my 370z and I tell everyone the story about how when I left the shop to drive it home, I wasnt even willing to make the drive back to the shop. As soon as I got home I drove up some 2x4s, jacked up the car, and rolled under there to swap the stock mount back in.
YMMV but for me and my trans it was not tolerable.
