I don't know what's going on here but an H pipe is more then just a brace. Anyway.

Any well designed exhaust will flow good enough to not make a practical difference. A good Y pipe (Tomei); X pipe (FI); H pipe (AAM) will all do a good enough job. The only design that is inherently worse is a dual independent setup because there is no crossover to assist in flow. Y pipe designs often get looked down on because car manufactures can get the biggest cost savings out of them, only one pipe to mount.
