Mine behaves exactly like yours.
Weatherman, have you ever just tried turning SRM off like someone suggested? You state you know it isn't SRM (and I agree its not how SRM is
supposed to work) but it seems such an easy way to test if its the SRM malfunctioning. I work in IT and when we are faced with malfunctioning/faulty systems we eliminate everything we can even if we doubt it could be the problem. Seems like it would take 3 seconds to be sure.
