Default Solution for Broken Tabs on Glovebox

Following the service manual as I was removing the glove box to replace the cabin air filter, I broke the two tabs that hold the glove box when open.

There seems to be an exorbitant amount of 370z gloveboxes on ebay. Most don't show or mention if the tabs are broken in the pictures. My guess is this is a common problem.

Has anyone come up with a better solution? After remove the surrounding interior piece, I noticed it really wasn't necessary to take out the glove box completely since it would of been attached to the interior piece. If I find a replacement I'll be more careful.
