We do have the worst of all CMM software packages. I much preferred CMM Manager over Geomet. Ugh. Geomet was designed by people who wanted a big pair of calipers instead of true 3D coordinate system functionality.

The FARO arm software is pretty good. Either way, I've prepared extensive work instructions on their use. You could be a complete idiot and still muddle your way through as long as you were a literate idiot.
