I have a usb stick with about 1200 songs on it, and copies of it in my 2 other cars.
My Pioneer P99 has no issues, and will shuffle randomly through all the songs, as will the stock head unit in my 17 subaru, but I recently purchased a used Titan with a cheap aftermarket head unit in it (its like a $160 soundstream) On that unit, I would say there were about 20 songs that just kept repeating again and again... It got to the point where I could almost predict what song was next..... I yanked it, and replaced with a better unit, And all is well.
I'm not a computer guy, and am not familiar with the heirarchy of usb flash drives, so I can't speak to that, I just load 'em on and let 'em play..
As Southark370z mentioned above, it may have something to do with how they are stored on the drive, or it may just be cheap *** electronics in the head unit....
