If you mean catch up to them, perhaps not.
But don’t rule that out, either.
they are definitely driving the same line that Toyota, Honda, Mazda, and Datsun did, only those marques had a 30 year head start. Just like these Japanese makes did, the Korean twins have done a lot to put their earlier days of “low price, questonable quality” behind them. And based on the strategy they have adopted, I’d say they are closing the gap while the Nippon crowd sits on their laurels.
