Thank goodness the tax assessor's office takes online appointments. Their website says the current wait is over an hour (which means probably double that). Sure enough, I requested the appointment around 11 am and received a 1:30 pm time.
Gotta take care of title and registration (and license plates) for the Lexus. Plus I'm getting the Z re-titled in my name
