I don't know what length of time has to do with this, but I've had the dongle plugged in for several days, and I'm back down to a few feet depending on the direction. It's also gotten really hot again to though.

I have created an internal task for this to be investigated further by our developers, it "may" be possible that the Bluetooth interface can be sent into some kind of "shutdown mode" when it senses that some data is not changing for a given period of time, at this time I do not know if this is even possible though as this sort of work is not my level of expertise.

Its a shame that the OBDII socket supply has a permanent battery voltage output and is not dependant on ignition switch position because this would fix the issue...... ignition off = Bluetooth module OFF.

Anyway, the task is created and will be in our backlog of remedial work, I cannot tell you when it will be looked at but we will inform you of any progress as soon as we can get to it, thank you again for your help with testing and troubleshooting, we really appreciate it.
