Try easing into the throttle at 1500 RPMs. Once you get that smooth, quick launch right around the engagement point, that should help give you a better feel for what's needed to launch at 2500 RPMs, which is a pretty ideal spot for mostly stock Z's. You can get a perfectly smooth, quick launch at 4K and 5K RPMs all day long - you just wear out the clutch plate a lot more from feathering longer and at higher RPMs. And clutch dumps aren't good for much either unless you just like wasting money on tires and clutch wear.
