I figured for enthusiasts sake I'd do a small write up on my Camaro. I'm 9 months in... 9,500 miles. I roasted the stock eagle F1 runflat tires.
The run flat review.
The bad... They ride hard, are not smooth and add road noise. They lasted 9 months, but I was semi abusive to them. That's said I was able to get 14,000 miles on the stock Bridgestone on the Z. Still a bad comparison cuz I'm putting an extra 170lbs of torque on the rear wheels. The F1's would burn out for no reason. Which was fun, but im sure was kinda the reason they didn't last long.
F1 tires need time to warm up to be functional. So early romps in the ride soon after take off not recommended
They're expensive as he'll. 4 tires would've cost me $1,800. Not worth the price at all vs the replacements. Michelin PSS tires. Having tried the Ps4, I didn't feel a performance difference from the PSS. So I saved $100 and these are the camaro's new shoes.
The Michelin Pilot sport review 500 miles...
They are awesome. It feels great being off run flats. That design alone is the Eagle F1's major flaw.
The PSS is a serious tire on the camaro. It's 3x harder for the rear tires to break loose. The tires feel amazing. I launch harder, stop faster, corner harder and ride smoother!!! GRIP for days. It keeps my 460hp car in check. I guess on a ZL1, which PSS is the stock tire... I imagine these tires burning out easy on the ZL1. I guess the tires are different on each car is to maintain that skiddy tire chirping that I've now reduce 70%. PSS was the missing link to perfect handling.
The camaro
With new tires, it's driving characteristics are amazing. It feels like a German sports car. The agility for its size defies logic. This is the most enthusiast car of the muscle cars. It is very corvette-like in track mode.
Soon I will be adding 1le suspension components. It's crazy that this car gets better.
Believe it or not. People come up to me a lot. They wanna know if the Big boy is under the hood. I just rev it up as an answer. Lol. This is what I've always wished for in terms of performance. From the performance side. It drives like a 80k cat
Does it make me not miss my Z?
The Camaro gives you visceral senses that lack in the Z and vice versa. As an enthusiast, i dont like one over the other. They both serve different purposes in stimulating your senses, and neither can be a replacement for another
