Just to be clear... The factory speakers have been out of my car for 6 years, and replaced with aftermarket drivers. (and yes, I did it from inside.)
My intention is to make a custom mount in the dash location for a midrange driver that is larger than the factory grill, so there will be a good deal of modifications made to fit them in, and possibly custom grills as well.
I need room to get my gorilla hands in there to perform the surgery.
I am also aware of the possibilty that the windshield MAY have to be removed if the need to replace them arises. I am working on that design snafu.
I am willing to go through this to make these mods. I never said I was rational, or sane.
