Put a LT1 350, 350 HP motor out of a 1970 Z28 into my 1976 Chevy 4x4. 3 months later. Cruising down the road. Motor started running ruff. Turned around a headed for home. Got 2 blocks from the house and the motor died. Buddy towed me home. Dropped the oil pan. It was full of metal shavings. Buddy turned the motor over with the key. Me under the truck watching. The back part of the crank. Behind the 2nd main bearing turned over. The front part of the crank didn't. The crank broke right behind the 2nd main bearing. LT1's have a forged crank too.
