Aw sure ... thought of doing a Gallery thread on the repair; but, I suppose this will suffice for now.
Story I got via the Insurance Adjuster was this was totaled for vandalism ... somebody got pissed at the original owner & lit the passenger seat. The heat spread & smoke did the majority of the damage - it must have been contained pretty fast.
Just off the truck, & covered in Auction Yard mud & dust ...
I would've liked to have said "it still had that new-car smell", but ... I guess I'll just have to be happy with the 1,500 miles on the clock.
Driver's Door Panel got a little toasty ...
Driver's Seat heat damage ... the white stuff on the floor mat is an aromatic baking soda that I placed to cut down that wonderful burnt plastic smell (it didn't help).
One thing I learned ... the '17's & newer have a different seat fabric vs. the '16's and older. It's making my desire to stay "model year correct" difficult. Here's where the turkey baked ... the passenger seat. I found remnants of "phone book" in the seat & a NASCAR cig lighter under the seat. I didn't snap any pictures of the headliner and visors, but they got the heat treatment too ... non-reusable to say the least
I've gutted the "entire" interior now. Cleaned every inch, and ozone'd the cabin. No odor at all remains at this point. I'm deep-cleaning every reusable part, and sourcing replacements for what is not ... the hard part.
