This past weekend I went to my local Honda dealer to check them out for fun. I've never driven any gen Si before, but I've always heard great things. I really despise the new styling of the civics, but it's not like I was buying the car anyway. However, I have to give credit where it's due...the interior is top notch. Honda has been doing really well with their interior styling lately. Just not sure why they dropped the ball on the exterior styling on
all their models (personal opinion).
The salesman was very laid back and he literally just gave me the keys to test drive a sedan lunar silver metallic civic Si along with my cousin. The salesman didn't even join! He said take it out for as long as you like and enjoy the car.
I didn't abuse the car, since that's just not me, but it was definitely spirited driving. While cruising around town the car seemed fine. There's plenty of space, it's super practical, and that shifter! Such tight and short throws. All that pretty much dies once you push the car, unfortunately. I had two big problems with the car. The torque steer and rev hang is just unbearable. As soon as you accelerate, the car just veers off the to the right. I understand it's FWD, but it was bad! Once the turbo kicks in it's even worse. Then, when you shift it to the next gear, you just wait...and wait...and wait until the RPMs drop enough to shift smoothly into the next gear. It just completely killed the fun of the car. Overall I was highly disappointed in the car. I'm not really sure why I made this post, but I figured it would be helpful to read if anyone on this forum may be interested. Exterior looks are subjective, the interior and shifter were amazing, but the overall driving experience was terrible.
