Default Thoughts on the $500 Tein Street Basis Coilovers?

https://thmotorsports.com/tein/tein-...i-2419513.aspx

These to be precise.
I've toying a lot recently with idea of wanting to lower my Z and also improve handling a bit too. Its at 125K, pretty sure original springs and shocks though it has zero sag. It actually rides really really nice too, though does seem a bit wayward in higher speed cornering and the way it reacts to undulations and bumps. It's not as nailed down and playful as my friends FRS for example. Feels much more like an 8/10s than a 10/10s car, even Chris Harris said that in a Z review. Anyways I want a small drop for the look of it, only an inch front and rear nothing crazy, but also to sharpen up the responses and decrease vertical movement. I watched my friend accelerate in it the other day to see what it looked like on the road and it does have a fair bit of squat/front lift in first and second gear too.

So I know it seems super popular to do just springs, like the Swifts, but I don't want to blow my shocks, especially if they are original they won't last long, and I don't feel like spending loads and loads on nice coils over a grand. If I had a new or low mileage example, I would splurge for HKS or KW no doubt. I saw these Tein's and just totally am dumbfounded at the price. Seeing these would replace my potentially tired stock spring and dampers, it would surely be an upgrade? I'm not looking for anything fancy, I don't need 30 way adjustable dampers. These aren't adjustable for damping but if it's similar in stiffness or slightly more stiff to what I have, then that's great as mine stock is too comfy to me honestly. Probably won't be tracked, just the occasional spirited drive and drifting in the rain in the empty business park haha.

After all that rambling information, anyone have these and can say they are crap? Or good for money as way to drop car slightly and have new shocks/struts at same time?

thank you!
