Lol - try 25-30 years in Canada to pay it off - well at least places like Toronto, Vancouver and Victoria. Rent won't even cover a full mortgage/property taxes/repairs anymore on the initial purchase. Most people in Victoria that have a newer house have a suite they rent out in areas that allow them just to help pay the mortgages.

If you can buy an apartment in Austrailia and pay it off in five years you would be foolish to go buy a 370Z instead.... until you own five plus units of course
