Yep..mine is at the driver side door. Almost sounds like the glass is loose or something but it's not. It's been driving me crazy for about 3 mos now. It does is sporadically and when I try to see what it is, it goes away or I really can't find it. I have not been able to recreate it for the service manager at the dealership. I also have an annoying squeak coming from the back somewhere. It only does that one when I go through rough patch of road.

I have a problem with my doors too, they just don't thud like a well built car. I want my doors to sound tuff and sturdy like a Mazda Miaitas

Mine is on the drivers side and more like the seat belt harness (plastic housing). Just started about a month ago...btw I have 22K miles on the car.

I'm at 30k. I've had the door inside plastic off, and the sound was still there, it's coming from the glass and the metal frame of the door (outside shell and inside shell). It's definitely the sound of glass vibrating or bumping against the door frame. Hmm.

i can recreate like u,,,its really annoying,, i went to dealership and they took door apart and readjusted but still making noise,,,anyone know how to take door panel apart??,,,:icon14: |
Taking the inside door paneling is pretty easy. Next to the inside door handle (on top near mirror), pop out the triangular looking plastic piece, there will be one bolt under that. Under the door handle (middle of the door) right above the map pocket, there is a plastic piece, pop that out, and there are two bolts there. Pop out the piece that holds all the window/door lock switches, disconnect it. Then just pull the entire inside of the door off, it's on clips, supper easy to do, grab at the corner near the rear view mirrors and just pull the entire thing off, should come off right away. Having done it a few times, I can probably take the door apart in like 2 minutes now.
Problem is that the sound is coming from inside the door, between the outer and inner metal shells of the door (and not so much/at all) from the inside door trim. You could take the inside shell off, but that seems like a pain, because then you also have to unmount the power window motor. |
