WTB: 09-12 Tour/Sport/Navi 7AT or trade?
Hey all! This is my 1st post on this Forum and I do hope that once I purchase a Z (maybe from one of you), it will be followed by many more, as I know how informative, supportive and helpful these forums can be with the knowledge base behind them. So, thanks to everyone in advance.
I want to purchase a super clean, well maintained (documented), 09-12, 370 Z, Tour/Sport/Navi, w/a 7AT. Strongest consideration will be given to cars under 30k miles. The car needs to be in spectacular condition. All colors will be considered except those in the black/charcoal family. PW is preferred. Tasteful, quality mods are preferred, such as; performance exhaust, mild spoilers and a plus 1 or 2 wheel fitment. Let me know what you've got. Again...tasteful is good. Now, I live in an easy access area about 35-40 miles east of Atlanta. I do not travel long distances well...and...I rarely buy a vehicle without laying my own two eyes on it first simply because I am a fanatic about the condition of the cars I drive. What this means is that the seller will have to make the car available to me within a reasonable driving distance from Atlanta. I know that eliminates a lot of buying prospects...but...for me I would rather be safe than sorry. Next...I may have something you might be interested in trading for...partial or otherwise: my one owner, white/Blk leather, 2012 VW turbo GTI, Autobahn Edition, Dual Clutch auto trans, w/14k miles. This vehicle is a solid 10 out of 10 in presentation. Every option offered by VW, this car has, inc NAV. Factory warranty remains. Nit pick all you want...you won't find anything to fuss about here. Anyway...tell me what you've got and we will go from there. Thank you! Buck |

I always loved the gti. Plenty of Z's here to choose from for sure. I have a 7at, but I would only trade for a comparable mileage Nismo..which I am pretty sure no one would do. Don't get me wrong, I still love my car, so it would have to be a nice Nismo.. (again pipe dream).
good luck! |

Thanks for chiming in Malm. Sure I can't talk you into letting go of your Z? Just kidding. Sometimes I wish I had young knees again because the Nismo would definitely be ahead of my 7AT, touring/sport choice. Too bad Nissan hasen't offered the dual clutch trans in that car yet. Can't beat the lightning fast shifts that design offers. I am sure it will come...just a matter of time. Thx.

I went with a base. When I bought, I was looking for sport (don't need nav with all the aftermarket options out there.. and leather is hot hot hot here in FL) *my opinion obviously) .. but got a super low mileage 2011 for a really good price... and in the long run considering Ive started to mod it (wheels, suspension ect).. the only thing im missing out on vs the sport are the sport brakes.. (which I will get eventually)... But since I bought mine a while ago.. they have all dropped in price quite a bit.
The 7at paddle shifters are actually pretty damn good considering the price of the car btw. You will not be disappointed once you get the timing down. |

Wackjum, Beautiful car...great color & well appointed! The mileage is a bit more than I'd like to see when I look down at the gauges. That extra 15k miles is 2 years of driving for me...but I will keep your car in mind. Lots of good stuff there. Thanks for your reply.

Wow...didn't think it would take this long to narrow down my search for a Z. I can also meet someone 1/2 way if a trade is involved. The only 370 Z I have found within a days drive, with the options I want, is a 2011, in Chattanooga at a dealer, w/27k mi for $30995. Clean, high retail is $28.8k. From what I have seen in these classifieds, Z's are currently selling somewhat slow and sold prices are a bit below book. Any feedback on this would help. Thx

I went through the same search as you at the beginning of the year. I was constantly on Ebay, Autotrader, Cars.com and Car Max. Finally found a '12 PW with sport, touring and nav, only 3k miles. I had to drive 3hrs to get it from a dealer in Chicago. I was able to negotiate $28.9 for it. I got there and found as a bonus that it has a full Borla exhaust.
Don't give up, they are out there. I think the Nav system in the '09 and some early '10 are limited in comparison to the newer ones. If you can afford it, I would shop '11 and '12 if you are wanting all the options. Plus you have a better chance of the car still having the factory warranty. |

Silly Rabbit
Sounds like you got a great deal on your Z. Good for you. I am running thru the classifieds too. Just seems like this package is tough to locate right now. I wish I was in the market for a Nismo. They seem to be all over the classifieds at below book. Too bad my knees are shot and I get lost if I am more than 50 miles from the house. If you see anything come up in your neck of the woods pls give me a shout. Appreciated! |
