Thanks, all. Here's an update. I couldn't find smaller screw clamps, so I redid the zip ties and switched out the hose to the boost gauge. The hose didn't fit

Thanks, all. Here's an update. I couldn't find smaller screw clamps, so I redid the zip ties and switched out the hose to the boost gauge. The hose didn't fit the intake manifold barb as well. So a combination of all this may have reduced or eliminated the idle surge and the code hasn't popped up. It seems to be running much better. After test driving the idle still bounces a tiny bit, but doesn't climb to 1k anymore.
