Wow nice C6. Just curious, why would you want a 370Z over a 400+ whp C6? I've driven both and the 370/350 is considerably slower. With a LSx vette, you can easily get 500 rwhp NA, whereas the 350/370 your dropping 10k+ for a TT kit that's going to be way less reliable and your relying on boost for all your power. The NA LSx is instant power all the time. Maybe you don't care about Performance and just prefer the Z as a daily driver?

I probably wont ever boost one of my cars. I really do like the vette, and if the deal doesn't pan out I won't mind keeping it. I was really attached to my Z for some reason. It wasn't the fastest car in the world, but it was fun to mod. The tuner/import scene is a lot of fun, and the average age of vette owners is 60 (if I remember correctly), so I don't have anyone to cruise with or go to meets with. I want the z because it will be a comfortable daily, with still a little bit of passing power when I need it. I don't ever really use the power (trying to keep the driving record clean :tiphat:) but its nice to have sometimes. Seeing as how I might end up having to travel long distances soon for work, its a good time to switch into something more efficient.

imo, the Z handles better, at least under my control. I can do the same lap times in my 370 with 100 less whp than I could in my C6 at Road Atlanta.

I've never done any laps in the vette, but I can imagine it being pretty intimidating! I am going to miss the rumble of the V8 though! :driving:

Actually yeah, the G37's are also something I was really considering! I really do like them

I don't really think it is more efficient. Chevy says the C6 gets 16/26 and Nissan says the 370Z gets 18/26. It's pretty impressive that a big V8 6.0-6.2L with 400+hp stock gets the same gas milage as a 330 hp 3.7L V6. Both cars have nearly the same drag coefficient's and curb weights.

I have an 08 G37 and while it is a bad *** car, its not like a 2 seater sports car. Also weighs a bit more than a 370 with the same engine, so its slower. I'd give it up in a heartbeat for a vette like yours though. I've really been considering trading it for a 370Z or a C6. Bad *** car bro  Good luck with whatever you end up doing.

I can second gas mileage thing as surprisengly the vetter gets way better gas mileage than my 350z before it was TT'ed.

Kickass 350z you had bro. Cant wait to see what you up to once you get the 370 ;)

I hope the OP doesnt mind me giving a small comparison.

Fun to drive will go to the C6. V8 rumble and instant torque (360whp at just 2700rpm) makes it a win. Also power does keep going on with no drop in the higher rpms.

As for handling, autocross is not fun for the C6 as its too wide and you'll have to take tight corners wider which results in slower time. For road course C6 takes my vote.

Both cars are good as dialy drivers but i feel the Z is easier and more comfortable in longer trips

No worries, I don't mind the questions! The vette is supposed to go from 1st to 4th, its called skip shift and that, along with a long 6th gear help the gas mileage. The ship shift was very annoying so it has a skipshift eliminator which allows you to shift normally like any other sports car or manual, but that does decrease the city mileage. Most vette guys got rid of that feature right away, and GM just wanted to avoid new buyers from paying gas guzzler tax which is why the vette, although it has a 6.0l v8 doesn't fall under the "gas guzzler" category :)

I can't decide which I like driving better. The VQ engines do have a very unique sound. The 350/370 seem more connected to the road to me. That is not to say the C6 doesn't handle, but maybe you know what I mean. Also, 370Z's interior is more modern IMO. For the driver wanting most WHP bang for buck, the vette wins here no doubt, especially if you pick up a used C6 for around ~30K.

Anyhow, thank you both for your responses.

Back in february I went to a local dealer they had a 2008 vett for 31,000. I went to see it and if it was good I was ready to buy it. But it turned out it had 57k miles. Thats when I saw the MB 370z. So i test drove both first the vett then the z the z only had 15k for 29. So I ended up with the z because I fell in love with the way it drove and had enough power. The vett was yellow with black stripes and auto tranny. The tranny and miles were the deal breakers for me. But to be very honest with y'all and myself I still like the vett a lot more and I still want one really bad. I would trade mine in any day of the week. But I guess I gotta wait a couple years untill I'm able to. But the whole point of this is I would take a vett over a z.

Nice car OP!

Nismo370 05-20-2011 07:43 AM

Ill trade my 370Z TT for that = )

RedlineAZ 05-22-2011 01:32 AM

Looks like the deal fell through due to some family issues on the other z that I was holding out for, so as of now its back up for trade and available!! The TT nismo 370z is super nice, but its just too far :(
