May I suggest you learn, its not hard at all though learning on a brand new Z kinda sucks. Might as well till you get it paid down some cause thats beyond high in price. Once its payed down some youll be driving it like a pro so just hang on to it and have fun! It will be worth it!

MakoFury, give it some time. Trust me, you'll love it once you get the hang of it. Years ago, my wife (then girlfriend) converted me to driving stick, so I know what you're going through.

go to a parking lot. Practice starting over and over and over again. thats all it takes. then you'll be fine. I thikn you are getting especially frustrated b/c you are getting ahead of yourself. Driving stick in traffic, when you don't know how to drive stick, will make you never want to drive stick again. Trust me. Parking lot, practice away from other cars, then you won't feel pressured by other cars.

yeah but it's probably going to take a while for someone who is just starting to learn how to drive a manual transmission car to get good enough to enjoy driving it. therefore, i understand the OP's decision to sell the car.

time=money. considering the OP will likely take at least a 6-7 thousand dollar loss selling the car, it would be worth the few hours it would take to at least get the basics down. the rest is just getting used to the car. theres plenty of people out there that drive stick that aren't very good at it. yea it takes a while to really be able to know the transmission really well and shift very precicesly, but it only takes a couple hours behind the wheel to get to the point where you are comfortable and not worried about stalling.

I echo sentiments, get the car to an empty parking lot, and practice, practice, practice. Unless you have 7-8 thousand dollars to just blow off when you sell at a loss, you really should just learn the manual transmission.

Out of curiosity, if you didn't know, and didn't want to learn, why did you buy a manual transmission...?

lets make phelans good point, and simplify it. if someone came up to you and offered to give you 7-8 thousand dollars to learn how to drive stick, would you? i'd be surprised if anyone answered 'no'. well, that's the exact situation you are in, just reversed. so yea... just think about it.

I admire the fact that you wanted to get this car in stick despite not knowing how to drive it at the time, but honestly, i was pretty much in your shoes, except i had a probably spent a total of 3 hours practicing and just driving around in another stick shift car over the month or so before getting my own Z.
