What's it weigh?
The battery pack for Roadster is twice the S 100D, which is 1,200 lbs.
so, by the time you add motors and chassis, we might be talking GT-R weight.
Not what I'd think of in a roadster. So, much like the other models by Tesla, it might be a rolling iPad with one trick. It's a clever trick, and probably a clever car. But it isn't as amazing as ol' Elon would like to snow us into believing.

The timing of the announcement is no doubt an attempt to stabilize share prices which were falling in light of the Model 3 fiasco. Hmmm, changing the subject to divert attention from a train wreck. Where have I seen that strategy employed before recently?

Tesla doesn't need another low volume product. They also don't need a heavy truck. They need the Model 3 to be a resounding success. But being satisfied with that wouldn't be Musk's style. Never will be.
