Default AAM Competition 370Z OEM Dash Location Gauge Install

Hey, everyone!

We recently completed another twin turbo build utilizing the 370Z OEM dash mount gauge locations for aftermarket gauges. This project really provides a clean aesthetic while adding new gauges, and avoids cluttering the interior with obtrusive monitoring devices.

We start by removing the dashboard. This process is quite labor intensive, but the end result is visually stunning and well worth the effort!

We then need to secure new mounts to the underside of the dash panel, within the cutouts for the OEM gauges.

We used the newer Tanabe Revel VLS series gauges, which have a very modern appearance in both their physical structure as well as their digital display style.

Time to install them to the dash panel using the new mounts we’ve secured. After they are mounted, we route any related wire harnesses and sensors through the car. This process is much easier while the dash is still removed. Once all harnesses have been wired and everything is in-place, we begin putting the dash panel back.
The final step is re-attaching the gauge “hoods” for that sleek, factory-like fitment. Now, all this cockpit needs is a pilot! We think the owner of this vehicle is going to be very pleased with their AAM Competition built Twin Turbo 370Z.
