Nismo Recaros vs Base Seats
I just test drove a 2014 with cloth seats and had issues with the seat putting quite a bit of pressure on my left hip. The issue was exacerbated by the fact that the padding was broken down and the seat frame itself was digging into my hip, especially on right turns. In looking at pictures, it seams that the seat bed for the Recaros is actually a bit wider than the base seats. Can anyone confirm this?
I won’t be purchasing a Z for a year, or two, but wanted to test drive a cloth seat version and a 15+ Nismo. Unfortunately, there are almost no 15+ Nismos in my area and don’t really want to drive two hours when I’m not ready to purchase.
On a side note, the previous Z I tested was a Touring 7AT, and this was a Sport 6MT. I thought after driving the 7AT that I could live with that transmission but after getting back into a 6MT it just felt like home. The only thing I’m not crazy about is how the revs drop slower than I’d like and I have to wait an extra beat before releasing the clutch, on up shifts, to keep the shift smooth. I’m kind of glad that I had the hip issue as I could have had a much harder time walking away!
