I did it myself, but sourced my own high speed bearings. NSK set, rated up to 63,000 RPM. Swapped them in myself along with a new Oil Slinger plate. Watched a few videos, did some reading and took it slow and carefully followed instructions I pieced from said material. End result was a substanial improvement in noise over before and just seemed smoother overall. Car has seen up to 7500 RPM a number of times over a few thousand Kms. No issues yet. If you keep bashing on it all day everyday, I reckon you'd break even a 928 re-built unit.

Single greatest piece of advice if you were to tackle it solo, would be to invest in some good small bearing puller tools. I borrowed a set.
