I had a tear in my trucks leather seat right on the lower side of the seat cushion where you slide into the seat. I shopped around for a leather repair person that the dealers use. He came over to my house, made the repair, came out great, and has held up for over two years now. I would think that wear spot can be repaired also. It may be worth looking into.
