Car Died While Driving, Now Will Not Start. No Codes.
Hi all, been a lurker on this forum since I got my Z last year. Used a lot of the DIY's for springs and other minor troubleshooting, but now I have this issue.
I searched the forum/web on this one, tried multiple methods/fixes (outlined below), still will not start.
Here's how it started... I'm from AZ, so no real weather conditions here this time of year, But I was driving in the morning to work and about a mile in, the just car died, the symptoms made it feel like I just ran out of gas (electronics still on). I had a full tank though.
Just add this tid-bit, it was after a right turn, but I was a red light. I didn't accelerate hard out of the turn so I don't believe this to be an issue.
I towed it back to my house, got my battery tested just in case. It was low, but got I it charged and put it back in but no success. I did buy some starter fluid and this made it seem like the car wanted to turn over a bit more, but never fully started.
Considering, that the starter fluid helped somewhat, I ended up replacing the fuel pump, with the newer version, mine is an 09. The old pump's housing seemed a bit damaged since one of the rods (non-spring) was hanging lower. I put in the whole new assembly (OEM), but still no dice.I feel resistance on my fuel line to the engine bay when the car is turned on and I hear the fuel pump kick on as well. At this point, I am leaning on that this is actually not a fuel related issue.
Checked the appropriate fuses, all is good. Unfortunately, no codes as well. This can't be the key issue since I am actually getting a crank result.
Any idea of what I should take a look for next? 09 base, no mods recently done to car. Only mods at the moment are intake/exhaust.
Thanks in advance!
