That's what I did to bypass for my Kenwood. Pretty sure it works the same on Pioneer.
It unfortunately doesn't work the same for pioneer... you have to get the little bypass jobbie.. I had a kenwood in my 350z though and like you said, I was just able to ground the parking brake wire.
