The new Nismo with the Dunlops would have been the proper car to bring if available. Hell, they could've asked a dealership to borrow one for publicity. This could have been an opportunity for Nissan to show how well the platform aged against the newer contemporaries. The Z was running mid 13's, braking near 100ft from 60mph, 70mph slalom tests, and pulling a G in the corner with Advan's and RE50's 8 years ago.

Every one of those metrics lay right over the CTR. Granted that's "magazine racing", but the point is, a Sport or specifically a Nismo Z would have been a lot more interesting.
