I am going back to a Valentine One. I had one on my 350z but I sold it with the car back in 2010... Got into a Z again in 2014 and bought an escort 9500ix which was a great detector but couldn't deal with the junk K band stuff from modern blind spot monitoring. I missed the arrows on the V1, but I was in love with the lockout feature of the escort. The MAX 360 came out and I thought it was perfect. Had the arrows, had lockout, looked sleek and modern, and handled most of the K band junk.

But in the end, I just missed the V1 arrows. The escort has them but they are harder to see, and they are not as responsive as the V1 arrows... The escort is also a larger detector.. the V1 looks dated but it is a little smaller and thinner. Supposedly the latest version handles the K junk as well. Since I can't get lockout with the V1 (without adding bluetooth and having to run an app on my phone whenever I drive), I'm going to try to go without X and K band turned on and gamble that I won't get tagged by them. I've never seen law enforcement around here use either of those bands so I'm hoping to be OK there.

I will miss having the cool escort mute button modded into the switch blank.. I get complements on it all the time people think its a factory option.
