Asheth,
I'm in the same boat. I'm actually serving a 12-month tour in Iraq, and will redeploy back to Germany this summer. I'm still undecided about my next car. I'm 50/50 between the 2011 BMW M3 and the 2010 370Z. Total price aside, the M3 has incredible savings through the special military sales program ($57k with lots of options, almost $8k less than stateside), while the Z is quite the opposite: $30,800 stateside (base with Sport pkg), $36,800 overseas. I already got the price list from Auto Exchange, and as you probably know, the price difference is due to the fact that we must pay MSRP overseas, plus an extended warranty ($2,700!!,) extra insurance to bring the car to Germany, plus fees and other BS that I'd rather not mention. Anyways, If I decide to get the Z, I'll probably buy it in the states, then ship it (free of cost) to Germany. And that takes me to the final question no one has been able to answer yet, not even Nissan USA: warranty. According to the Auto Exchange representative, the car will void its warranty as soon as it gets to Germany, and an extended warranty must be acquired in order to have the vehicle covered. Is that true? Can anybody here confirm it?
Other than that, how do you like your Z? Any oil temp issues driving it in the Autobahn at high speed?
Thanks!
