while it would be a little more expensive if you want a perfect performer for the street and track with near super car performance go for the new ZL1. You can get one for about 62k if you opt out of the add ons like the PDR. My girl just got one and it is just fantastic. Yes, the seating position/window takes a little to get used to but not very long. The car has power for days and grip is fantastic. While it's a heavy car it doesn't feel heavy by any means. It obviously won't feel like a miata or sup 3000lbs car but it doesn't feel any heavier than my 370z did or my current corvette does. Even my 84 300zx doesn't feel much lighter. My 2600lbs 280z does feel substantially lighter. Point is, I don't think most people will notice the 400lb difference of the Z vs. the Camaro.
