This is so sad.

I read it was a blown tire in the comments section of one of the stories I read, but I don't know how anyone, that didn't actually witness some sort of failure, can say a mechanical failure *caused* the accident. Hitting a tree and rolling down a mountain-side would necessarily make a lot of stuff fail. (tires included)
