Default GT-R turbos on the VQ37

I must of jinxed myself. The steering shaft has zero clearance what so ever if i tilt the engine back a little (still not sure how to make it at the right angle without attaching the trans and bolting everything)

Anybody has any ideas? It's hitting the heat-shield bolts at the bottom and even grinding them a little bit doesn't help.

Unless i'm tilting the engine way too far back, then it might clear if i put it at the right angle. Does anyone have pictures of their engine mounted without the intake manifold in place? That would help me visualize it a bit.

These are pictures from the german shop who has built a few 370Z's using gtr turbos. It almost looks like their steering rack is in a different location?

Any ideas/ help would be really appreciated as I'm really out of ideas at the moment :/
