I know the part doesn't take much lateral load if at all, but still, poor design of you ask me. It's seems all three holes need to be machined more thoughtfully to allow for extra play/positioning while installing.

I would agree. If it were mine to build from scratch I would leave the center hold as is and slot the outer holes to allow for variation of the body position. Then again I didn't take the time to draw the complex shape to get up to the brake master so I am not gonna fault the designer completely.
Mine needs 1.5mm machined off the side of the hole to allow for the bolt to line up. Would take 10 minutes to do on a manual CNC mill but I'm too lazy to take it back off, bring it to work, then reinstall for now.
