I've spent so much time trying to figure out how to make this work and it seems to be stupidly easy. Gray wire in pin 36 of the 40-pin gray plug of the BCM is the trunk pin and it just needs to see a negative pulse in order to pop it open. Now I just want to make sure it rests at ~12 volts and drops to 0 when the hatch release is pressed. If that's the case, it seriously might just need one wire spliced into that gray wire and the other wire attached to ground.

Now if I get that working, I want to play with getting an actuator in there to really pop it open.
