We DON'T need a $100 billion high speed rail line that no one will ride, will never turn a profit and will undoubtedly run at least 100% over budget. Same freekin thing here in Mich. Several years ago " they" asked to raise the sales tax 2% to fix the roads, every one voted yes, and today the roads are crap! " They" also want a high speed rail system, and I agree with you 100% it will never be without subsidies & will be at least double the original cost estimates. What really scares me is that it was only voted down by a narrow margin, it will be back on the ballot in 3 yrs.
