Not really that much more expensive.

A fully rebuilt 7AT is slightly more expensive compared to a new clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, short shifter, and a HD CSC for a 700 HP rating combination. So in reality its maybe a thousand more. If you can do the work yourself, its almost the same costs for either MT or AT transmission beef up.

This is just something to ponder before giving up on the AT.
