Ya aluminum oil pans are intimidating in that regard. That was why I made it a larger thread than the stock plug to begin with. Then I believe it was the 3rd production batch I decided to make it even bigger yet.

Nobody has reported tearing out their threads on the original pans yet, but I am sure the day will come that someone calls me up to ask about getting it welded back up and re-machined.
