Default Which way to adjust steering wheel

Hello,

I recently purchased a steering wheel from Carbon Fiber Element and the spline of my steering rack does not line up with the center of the wheel. Which means that I will have to either get an alignment (which I will do eventually) or do the "loosen bolt tie rod locks and do a half turn tighter on one side and a half turn looser on the other side" method.

My question is which way should I turn the rack?

Basically the wheel has a spline that it matches up with to the left of center and to the right of center.

To the left of center; the wheel sits a good degree off, like maybe 30 degrees off center, IE more turn needed. BUT the center marks of the wheel and the rack are super super close in this orientation.

To the right of center; the wheel sits like 2 or 3 degrees off center, IE less turns needed on tie rods, but the center marks of the wheel and the rack are a significant distance apart (like one notch of the splines worth basically)

Can I go wrong going either way?

I am going to get lowering springs soon and I will end up getting aligned after that so I'm planning on doing the tie rod tightening method until then just because having a center stripe and flat bottom that are not centered is annoying.

Thanks for any input that you can provide
