Never touch your paint with a towel that leaves anything behind Pretty much any towel you buy in an auto parts store is not worthy.

I've got several Adam's Great White towels. They are great for picking up the excess water where it pools in various spots, but I don't touch my paint even with them any more.

Junkman recommends that you touch the paint as little as possible, which includes drying with towels. I started with a $30 leaf blower from my local hardware store, and now I'm on my descent into the rabbit hole purchasing MetroVac products.
