I have both. The C6Z06 is nearly 6.5" wider, 3" lower, and over 7" longer than a Z34. Wheelbase is about 5" longer than that of a Z34. It has less ground clearance and more front overhang, so scraping is a problem that occurs more.
Problems are always there in any vehicle, they are just different. Replacing the exhaust valves and their guides improve reliability. Mine now runs Ferrea SS exhaust valves and brand new guides. At least GM decided to forego the electric steering column lock since the last model year of C5, so no C6 is plagued by its malfunction.
Some of my dislike is the extensive use of electronics in the C6; door handles are soft buttons, nothing mechanical about them. The keyless system is about as robust or fragile as the one in my Z34. Cabin noise transmitted is about the same since it's largely dependent of the type of tires.
With a much larger engine and a lighter chassis, a C6Z06 demands more self-control and driving skills. Tail-out happens on demand yet it's docile enough for daily driving. However, while my wife drives the Z year around (even in the snow with proper winter tires), the Z06 is much less useful due to its very low ground clearance.
All those said, what's your intention for a C6 Z06?
