Mine is setup the same way. one hop through the panel and about 4 feet to the outlet. From there it routes to the 16 port switch.

On an unrelated note, I am thinking about buying this case when I get home.
The 5 year old child in me has control of the wallet and it wants flashy pc with custom watercooling loop
